The Hector Emilio Medina Bilingual School (HEM School) in Santa Rosa de Copan, Honduras may be hiring teachers soon. I post this as a warning to anybody contacted about this job. This isn't a school, it's a fascist regime. 95% of the foreign teachers leave early. Three of us have left this year, despite our commitment to the students. They will rope you in by leading you to believe that it is a poor school (it is not), but in reality it is a corrupt institution with no respect for education or educators. If you're interested at working in the area, there are much better bilingual schools nearby, such as the Mayatan School in Copan Ruinas, but I've heard they require more serious teaching qualifications. I wish there had been someone to warn me about this school before I was roped into a very difficult situation. |
