I have previous work experience in South Korea and have been trying to go back there to teach again, but my previous director has been giving me an unfounded negative reference. So, I'm looking into teaching in other countries.

How do the benefits compare in Singapore? Do schools pay the airfare and for the apartment and compensate high above the average cost of living? Do most schools require CELTA or TOEFL? I don't have either, but could I get a job in Singapore without them?

I'd appreciate any knowledge and advice you can offer on this topic!

You might want to try Korea again as a bad reference has never stopped anyone from getting a job there.

But if you can swing a gig in Singapore, go for it. It's probably a better place than Korea IF you can land a good job.

Money wise, you are better going back to Korea.

Days off, you are better off going back to Korea.

Saving money, you are better off going back to Korea.

Accommodation is very expensive in Singapore as is the cost of living.

Korea is a much better proposition.

Maybe your previous employer should remember that s/he is also mortal and hence prone to making mistakes?
