this board is pretty quiet.

if you have experience working for a multinational corporation in vietnam, i would appreciate your insights.

my qualifications include:

MA in TESL
BA in English
TEFL cert.

i have approximately 8 years of English language teaching experience (mostly at universities) and am wondering how to access corporate opportunities. will my lack of previous corporate work experience be a significant issue for prospective employers?

i have noticed that there are several language schools that offer corporate classes, but i would prefer to work directly for the corporation itself. is this realistic?

after reading several of the posts on this and other boards, it seems apparent that many employers will not hire without first meeting the applicant--is this true of corporate work as well, or could interviews be arranged in the U.S. or Europe?

thanks in advance.

if anyone has any questions about teaching in thailand, mexico or kenya i would be happy to pass along what i know.

i have limited experience in vn's corporate workings and to be honest your chances are slim. they usually hire native vietnamese where feasible (because it's cheap labour) and for the positions that require skill they'll hire foreigners with experience. corporations in vietnam (particularly in ho chi minh city and ha noi) are not to be taken lightly.. they're just like other corporations with the same expectations and standards. you might be able to get in under sales or marketing, but the pay would be low and you may need to know vietnamese for that. look around but i would keep my hopes low for landing a corporate job w/o prior work experience in a corporation
