Hello Forum Members,
I read an online article, and it stated the average pay for a full time TEFL teacher in Germany is 2,000 Euros. Is this true or is this a load of crap?
What would be the realistic amount for an entry level TEFL teacher in East Germany?
Thanks |

Hi there!
I'd say 2000 Euros is pretty realistic in most parts of Germany, if you actually manage to get a full time position. Just remember though that this is before tax. After tax this amount sums up to about 1300 Euros.
Another problem is there aren't many full time positions available. Most jobs posted are freelance positions which means you yourself are responsible for your taxes.
Freelance positions are paid by the hour and a common rate for 'East Germany' would be around 12 to 16 Euros for an entry level position. |
