What is the standard of housing like at KFUPM? Is it true that bachelors have to share with others?

Hello drlubanski. You don't share housing with others at KFUPM. f you are married, even if your wife isn't accompanying you, you'll get a 2 bedroom apartment in the "married" section of the campus. If you're not married, you'll initially be in an area for singles, in a studio apt, which ain't too bad really because you're away from all the families and their children. Smile Housing at KFUPM is actually better than most you'll find at other gigs in the ME.

Are you sure it isn't shared for bachelors? In some cases, I've heard rumors to the contrary... Rolling Eyes

When I worked there years ago there wasn't shared housing. Maybe they've had to resort to doing it because of shortages. For me, sharing housing is the one thing that cuts short any plans for staying a few years at a teaching job overseas. You can put up with a terrible job if you have a haven to retreat to at the end of the day.

There is currently a housing shortage for singles. Some people are sharing. Not all unaccompanied marrieds receive family housing.

Hardly anyone is sharing. Sometimes it is necessary as a temporary measure. Not acceptable thouigh. Too many craqzies in the world of TESOL to contemplate sharing !
