Hi
I am an ESOL teacher from Australia who is about to arrive in the UK on
a working holiday visa for 2 years. During this time I am wanting to
continue to work in the adult education sector.

I am interested to know about the Qualified Teacer Learning and Skills
status, that is a requirement here to teach adults. In Australia I
completed a Graduate Diploma in Secondary Education (English as a Second Language), which qualifies me to work in the primary, secondary and adult education sectors. I have now been working in the adult sector as a Language, Literacy and Numeracy Teacher for over a year.

I recently attended an interview in London and was advised that I would
need to check if my qualifications qualify me for QTLS status. Could anyone please provide me with further information regarding overseas-qualified teachers working in the sector, whether the QTLS is a requirement for employment and how OS teachers can gain QTLS status.

thanks,

mat

Can't help directly, but as nobody else has answered... Have a look at the Talent web-site. They probably won't have all the info you need but they're a good source of links (and lots of other useful related stuff). The Times Education online forum is also useful, although lost my bookmarks; have a nose around and you should get lucky.
