This gets my goat as well. Japan is not perfect. Accept and move one. We are not indentured servants. Accept and move on.
Or you can stay here for years and spew about Japan sucks because their potato chips are different.  |

What's even stranger is that some of these people have minimal social skills whatsoever but are raved about by their Japanese colleagues.
Fortunately most of the non-Japanese I have met have ample social skills. Nevertheless, it boggles my mind how many lacking social skills can be raved over.  |

| I think it depends on the culture. Some of the social skills 'raved' about in Japan seem pretty ordinary to me. Some almost seem anti-social. But, again, it depends on the culture that you are looking at. |

You telling me that you don't think that shows about animals, sasuke tournament type shows, other pointless game shows, food shows where every other word is "umai" or "oishi", anime, bad dramas and adverts about either breath freshners or funky green health drinks makes for clever and sophisticated TV.... what's wrong with you?! |

| A couple of weeks ago someone tried to steal my scooter, but couldn't thanks to the anti-theft mechanisms. Unfortunately, this morning between 8-10 a.m. my helmet was stolen off of my bike while I was playing tennis a few meters away. |

Sorry to hear that buddy, but that is pretty rare here. I see people leaving things on their motorbikes/bicycles all the time, and the only extra things I usually see is a lot of garbage piling up in any basket they may have  ! |

Howdy, Gaijinalways, good to hear from you again! Yes, I too was lulled in to a false sense of security here in Japan, but don't you believe it. They are taking everything that isn't nailed down these days, trying every sort of scam they can think of to make a buck. Times have changed. Also, this country has one of, if not the highest rates of bicycle theft in the world, not to mention umbrellas. Beware: things are not what they seem.
What do you think of me setting up a sting operation next weekend with my new helmet? |

Crazy is not necessarily a bad word  And I did also say "amazingly"
