Every single time Ive eaten at a restaurant here in Trujillo, the same thing happens. I finish eating and sit around for about twenty minutes with no check or acknowledgement from the waitress. Eventually I go to the counter and ask her what I owe. Am I supposed to get up as soon as Im done or do I say something to get her attention? I saw one guy clap and yell when he was done. What do I do?

Also, I think I was turned away from a restaurant earlier today. Other people were eating, but the waitress came up to me and said they did not have menus. I got up and left. What happened here?

If anyone can reccommend a good restaurant near El Cutural, that would be fabulous.

Thank you, etc etc.

You either whistle or flag them down and say "la cuenta" and they give it to you. Forget tipping, it's not really done.

Yep, menus, they usually only have a few.

San Augustin near El Cultural does good smoothies and chicken sandwiches.

Just up Husares opposite Fleming is OK restaurant, which does an OK menu for 4 soles. For yummy seafood Danielitas on Husares does great ceviche, arroz con mariscos etc.

If you are looking for work depending on your qualifications Fleming I think needs a replacement in July.
