I apologize in advance for this weird post. I got to Peru two days ago. Im currently in Trujillo. My eyes �have been almost unbearably itchy for the past day! As if I didn�t stand out by being an American...now my eyes are big and puffy! Could this be from getting water in them when I showered? Is the water that bad? Or might it just be alergies to something in the air I�m not used to? I know you guys aren�t doctors, but I�m starting to get nervous! Any similar experiences whatsoever? I wear contacts, if that matters.

Peru's filthy. YOu might be allergic to the stuff in the air or water, try washing your eyes with bottled water

Hi, are your eyes better? It could be an allergy, but it sounds like it could be conjunctivitis. You may have picked it up on the plane. Get a good anitbiotic eye drop from the pharmacy, or if it doesn't settle go see the doctor. In Trujillo there is a good clinic called Sanchez Ferrer in California.

I just got back to the states yesterday and went to my doctor. Looks like it is some type of conjuctivitis. I could have gotten it anywhere, so it might not even be Peru's fault. ;o)

My father-in-law works at Sanchez Ferrer when he's not at his practice.
