Hi
Not sure if u got the reply u were looking for. I am currently teaching in Cairo. I would say it all depends on being in the right place at the right time regarding salaries. I have a BS in Criminal Justice and minor in family and consumer sciences. I do not have teacher certification however, I am almost finished with my international teaching certificate through CITA. I have two years of teaching experience in Egypt. My current salary is 6000 LE a month. However, I was offered 10,000 LE a month last year but did not accept the position because I was not happy with the school for my children.
If you are single it is much easier to secure a good paying position. If u r already in Cairo, it is worth it to wait until August. Some schools r desperate because many of the foreign hires did not show up. They will be almost willing to pay you anything. It does help to have some teaching experience however for the better pay.
Most schools in Cairo will start u aroun 4000-5000 LE with a Bachelors and some teaching experience. The higher paying jobs r those that hire foreigners abroad.
Hope this helped.
