Basically, there is neither.
Singles have been sharing since September; not many of them it's true, but as the single housing is full there is no end to the sharing in sight.
Overtime disappeared this semester - it was farmed out to contract teachers. It had been possible to add between 50-66% onto the basic wage with overtime. While a smattering of o/t is quietly being dished out to the old hands it is no surprise that the planes to the Tesol conference are bursting at the seams.

Currently only one or two single teachers are sharing.
Overtime is not generally available but many of the staff here do not do overtime anyway.
600 hours class contact in the academic year is pretty good. And the holidays are the best you will get in KSA.
You want more money - go to Jubail, BUT expect to be worked harder and driven to the edge from which there is no return. |

Actually we are all on fairly pleasant timetables here this semester. I don't think there is anybody on more than twenty hours teaching, though class sizes continue to be large for the Preparatory Year.
I don't know what edge you are referring to; the main problem in Jubail is boredom, though it is better than Hafr-Al-Baten, which in turn is better than Kafji, which in turn is better than the Empty Quarter, which in turn is more exciting than solitary confinement on Alpha Centauri. |

One of the effects of going to Jubail is that you post everything twice. See what has happened to the otherwise sensible Stephen !
Play save and go to KFUPM ! |
