Hi all
Ive been working as an esl teacher at an Australian uni for 4 years now, I have a B.A in linguistics and a Dip ed in TESOL and Education. I was wondering if anyone new of reputable places to work in columbia. Preferably within the university system.

I may be pushing it a bit, but I would also be willing to work for institutions that provided accommodation or spanish classes for their teachers. Any help thrown my way in finding said miracle would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot

Okay...Colombia. Now that that's done with it I'll give you some names.

But first, what's a Dip ed (sorry, I'm American)? Who's it awarded by? Is it the equivalent of the DELTA/masters (DELTA is probably better)? If it is and you really have 4 years experience:

The British Council (when they have an opening) La Universidad Externado, Los Andes, La Javeriana, La Sabana grad program. More or less in that order. Also look at elite private schools like Nueva Granada. That's a Bogota list. I'm not familiar with the elite employers in the rest of the country.

Hi
Thanks for the useful suggestions. Sorry about the speeling typo (he he he).

Just so you know a Dip Ed is a Graduate Diploma of Education which is a two year post-graduate course specialising in Secondary and Adult education which is offered by many Australian Universities. In Australia a diploma works like a masters degree, in that it will pretty much guarentee you work within the public school system, higher education faculties and definately private institutes (I know because I have worked for all three). Its not as specialised as a DELTA in terms of langauge training, but it works the same way in Australia at least.

Thanks again
