Greetings,
I am a South African with a BA degree in English Studies from the University of Pretoria. I did a one semester TESOL module as part of my degree. I also have one year's experience as an ESOL teacher. I am looking to travel and East Europe is at the top of my list, the Czech Republic especially.
I have a few questions though:
-How likely is it for me to land a job as an English teacher in Czech?
-How can I get a directory of sorts of the English/language schools in Czech?
-If Czech is an unlikely option for me what other Eastern European countries will hold better options for me? |

- if you're not EU, it'll be harder, as there are a lot of English/Irish teachers available (and they don't require any paperwork headaches)
- pfui.... try www.expats.cz as a starting point? otherwise, google searches...
- i don't have much experience here, sorry... |

Non EU countries will be easier for you. Since everyone has to do the same paperwork, the EU people have no advantage.
Ukraine is a booming market that pays better than CZ. You could try the Balkans but I dont know what the demand is like there. Russia is a possibility. and Turkey especially outside of Istanbul. |
