I don't think that it's because the posts on those threads were negative about the current status of demand in the CR. mr tree's right - it's because some posts went off into personal attacks. Though perhaps that's because of the reason you state, corij...

Clearly current info from teachers in Prague is useful to others considering coming to the city.

I started the new thread a couple of days ago, and I could open another one now, I guess, but there is a very current thread called 'demand in the CR,' I think - probably that one would serve the same purpose.

Can I suggest that people interested in contributing real-time info do it there? That would be useful and interesting, I think.

i admire your enthusiasm for the city, randall, and you're certainly correct - it's a great city AND a beautiful country too.

however, the big reason why you might leave at the moment is MONEY. salaries are plummeting and, as is typical in recession, prices are slower to come down. so a teacher's salary is really not worth what it was (and it never was that rich anyway). unfortunately this is pure supply and demand - there are a lot more teachers than jobs in Prague at the moment, from what i can see...

most people use prague as a springboard cause longterm prospects are so slim. always has been that way and always will be.

as someone once said, you can get a job anywhere in the world except in a place overcrowded with teachers.
