Is anyone currently living in Cuba (or has lived there recently)?

I believe that approximately 11.5 million Cubans currently live in Cuba.
Levity aside, I've spent some time there.
English language teaching opportunities in Cuba are few and far between. You could try approaching one of the universities, but don't be surprised if you're offered voluntary work only.
Bear in mind that the average salary in Cuba is the equivalent of 15-20 USD a month, so you won't make money giving private classes to Cubans.
Back in the late 90s, two friends of mine found work doing English language radio broadcasts, but I can't remember if they were paid for it.
A more lucrative option is working as a translator for Granma International, the foreign language version of the Cuban daily newspaper. Vacancies arise occasionally.
