The town has a very competent veterinarian who is very happy to euthanize troublesome feral cats.

On a more serious note I would be more than happy to advise interested fellow-Scots in how to become tenants. Cats are not welcome.

No one seems to be interested ! I suppose the average EFLers returning to the UK for retirement is so loaded with dosh that (s)he would nevr consider "social housing" - even on a charming Scottish island in the Gulf Stream !

Well, Uncle Scott, "social housing" is for homeless people and other medically unfit people, not for EFLers returning from the Magic Kingdom! Laughing

Even cats in UK will not accept to live in "social housing"! Laughing

You have been listening to Thatcherite propaganda. And probably live in some hellhole in the West Midlands, where there are more Mujahideen than Christians.

I have seen photos of Scot's new accommodation. It does not fit the stereotype of "public" housing in any way. I am still quite jealous!

No, it does not fit the American stereotype of American public housing.

It does not fit the common British stereotype either ! People are prisoners of their own stereotypes !

It is really motivating to know that after all those years in Saudi we can look forward to spending our lives in social housing in Scotland. Hell I would rather do VSO somewhere hot till I am 70.
