I applied to this school and got a reply asking me to fill in a 20 page application form. I kind of gave up in the end because some of the questions were so stupid. When I looked them up on line there weren't really any comments about the school which made me wary. Just make sure to have a good look at their website etc. to see if they are valid.

Im in the same position as Kornan applying to Language Grid was a waste of time, and 3 weeks later not a single word back.
Through a friend I was able to find someone who had just started working for them and she said the owner seemed to have a preference for young-ish women who were pleasant on the eye for their mostly male students.
Another red flag looking back was that they only had a cell phone number listed, and I should have googled them and found this thread earlier - so its really my own fault I threw away a couple of hours of my life!

Ouch! That is a pretty damning observation! Wonder if Language Grid would care to comment...

If you accept a job at The Language Grid then the very best of luck! The so-called management team is pretty much a one woman (aka stroppy inexperienced girl) band who overseas 'HR' AND is responsible as your 'Supervisor' which really makes no sense! To put this into perspective, if you have any complaints or issues with your Supervisor you can't raise this with HR...as she is HR!

A very controlling company and I wouldn't wish it on anyone to work for The Language Grid. It's incredible how this company get away with treating employees the way they do - there is zero equality and zero respect.

And yes I absolutely agree with other comments - your contract will state working hours Mon-Fri. Nope. Get ready to miss out on your weekends too!

I applied with just my CV and got the job, however, they do make you complete that million page long application form during your 'appraisal' - it's just ridiculous, as the majority of questions are tailored to interview type questions! Again... nonsense and a massive waste of time!

Explorer, you are responding to someone who posted this question in 2010. Hard to imagine he still wants info about this school! Very Happy Though perhaps there are others who are interested now.

AGoodStory, of course - but you never know in this industry - this person may revisit! :p Wasn't just for this person though, obviously if anyone else has any questions then hopefully I’ll be able to help by giving an idea of what it was like as an employee to work at this company. I have commented in other places - so hope that helps too.
