Hey.
Ill be living in Turin for some 8 months . Im currently teaching in Turkey ,wondering what will happen in Turin. Anybody has any idea how hard it is to get a part time or full time job in Turin as an English Teacher,or any chances to get one_to_one lessons with kids?
And secondly, will my bad French help me communicate with Italiand or is it basically positive to be able to speak Italian since in many of countries where English Teachers are highly needed ,speaking the language of people would be considered negative esp in academic environment.
Any kind of info. will be appreciated..
Thanks

I live and work in Turin and have done for eight years. Work is a little light at the moment but it usually picks up around October.

Full time work is extremely improbable. If you find a school that can find you work, it will most likely be a couple of hours in one place and a couple of hours in another. As the hours mount up it's not too bad.

There are some schools you should try to steer clear from. The Shenker institute of Turin is a nightmare, especially if you expect to be paid regularly for your work. If you phone to ask about your money the administrator pretends not to be there.

A bit of Italian will help with interviews and communicating with secretaries,
but usually lessons are conducted entirely in English.
