What resources (books, websites, articles, etc.) do you know of that provide information on teaching ESL/EFL with technology?
I'll share some that I know about here, and I'd like to know what I've left out.
BOOKS
Teaching Online by Nicky Hockly and Lindsay Clandfield (on sale this week)
How to Teach English with Technology by Gavin Dudeney and Nicky Hockly
The Internet and the Language Classroom by Gavin Dudeney
WEBSITES
Podcasts in English Website and blog by Richard Cain and Jackie McAvoy
Nik's Learning Technology Blog Lots of tips and tools for using technology by Nik Peachey
TEFL Clips Over 60 lesson plans that incorporate YouTube clips by Jamie Keddie |

Between Youtube, Edubuntu and the Ubuntu Software Center I have found everything I need.
I use Firefox with 3 addons- Video Download helper, Flashblock and VLC player to access and play youtube stuff. Ubuntu 10.10 gives me access to Edubuntu.
Starfall is an online system that requires firefox. It may not play on IE according to a warning when the site opens.

If you are using books by the major publishers they likely have "i-tools" packages that accompany the books as well.
I know that Oxford university press, Longman and Macmillian do for their current series of ELT books.

Check out http://www.edmodo.com, too. A great way to incorporate technology into the classroom, and make sure the students work outside class, too. It even has a smartphone app. |
