I'm doing the Teaching Assistant program in La Reunion, and I want to apply to some of the local language schools for extra hours. When applying to a language school in France, can I send them my English CV, or am I expected to translate it into French first? |

You're applying to a French company in part of France, probably headed by a native speaker of French.
Now which language do you think your CV/Resum should be in ? |

English CVs are perfectly fine in Paris. And plenty of the language schools here are not run by French people, though I guess the majority probably are. But anyway, I can't speak for the rest of France. |

If you are sending an unsolicited application, French is the safest bet. When answering ads, my approach has always been to send a CV in whichever language the ad is written. |

Hi,
I agree with some of the others above. Definitely have your CV translated into French. In fact, have it available in French and English and keep it up-to-date.
Also, have a one-page version with a nice photo just in case.
I would invest in a translator to translate your CV into French just to be sure.
A friend just moved to Reunion and he says that there is a real need for English there - and English coursebooks! So bring your collection of books with you!

The only jobs advertised in LA Reunion over the last couple of years have been a couple of hours a week, part time in a couple of Colleges. |
