Hi, I worked there 5 years ago. Got about 70,000 rupees + 200 monthly. They required 2 years post CELTA experience. Only Delhi had a teaching centre then. The others didn't hire teachers regularly, but lots of chances to examine IELTS. |

>How would you rate your experience of working with them?
I enjoyed it. Students usually very motivated. Decent variety of courses to teach. Can definitely experiment with technique. I was doing DELTA, so tried out a few things. Expat colleagues also motivated, maybe to the point of being too serious sometimes. But that just depends on who's there at the time. There were only around 10. Local colleagues very nice to work with.
>I heard they make you sign an agreement saying your classes can be observed anytime...does that happen often?
It seemed normal enough to me. Think the contract said twice a year. And it's with plenty of notice and agreement on which class you prefer.
>Anything else about their work culture that's significant?
Shift work - can be split morning, evening, and also Saturday for kids classes.
The money is better than usual for Tefl. Better than Sri Lanka. But less than British Council elsewhere in Asia like Singapore, Hong Kong. |
