Hello everyone,

If anybody is looking for some information about Novosibirsk or Altay, please check out my video diaries on youtube: 'Camping in Altay' and 'Life in Novosibirsk' respectively.

There's a bit of personal content on there, as it was originally intended as a means of updating family and friends in the UK. However, some may find information on there relevant.

Thanks for watching, and please excuse this shameless attempt at self-promotion.

Best wishes,

Mark

Link? Or can you send me the link by pm? Not easy to find just by name.
Thanks!

Hi Diana,

As I remember you moved to Vietnam, hope all is going well there.

Here's a link to my Altay videos:

And a link to Novosibirsk diaries:

Interested to know if it makes you feel a tad nostalgic.

Best wishes,

Mark

Thanks so much for posting your videos for all of us. I appreciate the inside view of Novosibirsk and your apartment, particularly since I dream of Siberia from time to time. Hope you can laugh in retrospect about the disturbing elements of your camping trip. *Burning down the tent!!!!*

Thanks a lot for the feedback. Quite a cathartic experience making the videos. One thing about Siberia, there's rarely a dull moment (architecture not withstanding of course).

With regards to the lady burning my tent down - yes, it is a source of amusement now. I'll be dining out on that one for a few years. Although at the time, it was a 'low-point'. This incident was an exception however; 99% of the time here foreigners are treated with humbling levels of kindness. Even she was quite friendly, prior to crossing her 'vodka threshold'.

I've recently posted a few more videos on Youtube. There's currently eight in total about Novosibirsk and the existing ones relating to Altay.

Thanks again,

Mark

Hello everyone,

I was recently interviewed on Russian morning television - the Siberian equivalent of `Frost versus Nixon' to be precise. The presenters were eager to hear my thoughts and insights regarding current economic trends. Other questions included:

"Without thinking of good or evil, show me your original face before your mother and father were born."

'What is the sound of one hand clapping?'

You know, the usual stuff. In reality the interview was about impressions of life in Siberia and some anectdotes relating to my more colourful experiences here.

Peace and bread comrades.
