Hi everyone,

I might have to learn Korean soon. Can anyone maybe tell me if it is a difficult language to learn?

Thanks, Doro

Hi I live in Korea and I can't imagine how difficult it would be to learn Korean OUTSIDE of Korea. Even in an immersion environment here it's not too easy.

Post your question on the Korea section.

it's easy if you're around Koreans. Check out hanlingo.com and youtube. You can learn the alphabet pretty easily.

Its not that hard to learn when compared to Japanese or Chinese. But, when comparing to romance languages, yes, it is kinda hard.

The written language is easy! (To pronounce that is, understanding is a different thing.)

I don't speak Korean, but I do speak Japanese which has the same grammatical structure. It's very different from English and makes for a tough learning curve. But it's not bad once you get used to it. For me, the writing system in Japanese was the toughest nut to crack, so Korean has a lot going for it in that respect.
