To Baters:

It only took me a week to get the WHV but I needed $2 500 in CDN TC and a plane ticket to show them when i went to pick it up from the Japanese consulate. Also you have to make sure that they think the main reason for your trip is tourism rather than working. Not sure but it may be difficult to get the WHV out of Canada.
