Good afternoon,

I am considering working at GEAD language community in Santiago. Does anyone have experience with this company? If so, could you tell me the pros and cons of your experience? Has anyone heard anything about this place?

Thank you.

I see it used to be called Global English.

I worked in Santiago for four years, one year in an institute. My advice would be to consider practical things like:

How near is the academy to the nearest metro station and your accomodation? If you are toing and froing all day that makes a difference if you can pop home and chill out for a couple of hours before the next class (saves money too!)

How much are they paying per hour. Are they guaranteeing you a full timetable?

Do they give contract and visa and pay for the visa or are you expected to pay that?

Do they seem like a professional outfit with decent people? You're doing the right thing trying to find out if there is anyone working for them.

I'm sure others could add other criteria to look for and maybe you have some more yourself.

If you have decent qualifications I think you can be choosy and if they offer you say 7,500 an hour why don't you try to up it to 8000 or say you have a better offer. Once you are there with your contract signed you might regret not trying to get a better deal.

Also ask what they pay for your transport.
