| Every time (about every 20 mins) CNN runs its advert 'Come to Business Friendly Bahrain' I chuckle. Do they know that the bedrock of Bahrian's economy is booze and birds? |

And it doesn't specify what "business" 
...but I suspect that the group that they are advertising towards are those illegal businesses that need to launder their cash through banks that don't ask questions.

Good point John. Although I wouldn't call those Chinese women in Diggers friendly ... more, pestilent. |

| Just back from a weekender, staying at the Hotel California in Juffair. The causeway was almost empty - great! - but the Bahrainis (Shia) are not happy and the there is a simmering tension. APCs and machine guns in the financial district. Other than that it was a blinder. |
