| Any suggestions where to start looking? Any places to avoid or enthusiastically recommended. I have been teaching for 5 years and I am just looking for something different from the Asian schools and , truthfully, FT. Why did I choose Mozambique...eh not to sure to be honest. |

| Take a look at the thread "Lynden Language School, Maputo, Mozambique". I was offered, and accepted, a job there in April 2009, did a lengthy phone interview and signed a contract via email. In June I called to talk to the director, I was not to start until July, just to check in and let her know the status of the police check that was necessary. During the conversation she casually said: "I did mention that you are required to come into the office for an hour or two every morning." This for a job that was to be evenings; she had not mentioned it and it was not in the contract. Turns out the hour or two was to be training. The pay was borderline. As one of the posts in the thread mentioned above says, Maputo is expensive. I bailed out of the job when she said the extra time was unpaid. |
