Hi. I'm a college student working toward my TEFL certificate.

For my Teaching EFL 1 class, my group needs to present a cultural spotlight and listening microteaching activity on Ethiopia. If anyone has any experience teaching English in Ethiopia, it would be really helpful for our project.

Hey!

Great to hear that your guys are doing some work on Ethiopia. The country needs more advertising.

Let me share some of my experience.

I have been teaching in Addis Ababa for the last 2 years. It was hard in beginning. Coming to a foreign country can be rather frustrating. However, everything turns out great.

I am a primary teacher and am working with KG students. All of my students are lovely and eager to demonstrate their knowledge as soon as they get a chance. The children are making Ethiopia a special place. I am also working with dedicated and passionate people working towards a great vision - developing a country that can give so much to the world!

I am interested in teaching in Ethiopia but feel a bit put off by some of the comments in the Gibson Youth Academy thread. If anyone else had positive experiences in Ethiopia, please share them.

She's lived and worked in Ethiopia for more than 10 years, all the time in the education field. She's knowledgeable about a number of the schools in Addis Ababa.

I volunteer taught at the English Alive Academy for a couple of weeks earlier this year.
