my company wankers tell me my visa expires three days before my flight is scheduled to leave! and no, the company won't (says they can't) do anything to help, or extend visa.

how big a problem will that be for immigration at the airport? what kind of fine? i can't afford to miss my flight because of the connections afterwards. the fee for changing the ticket is 200euros. if my fine at the airport is ??? 50 euros, it's a better deal.

has anyone heard if immigration will jerk you around for hours till you miss the flight??

any advice, warnings appreciated.

Do you have a 1 year visa? When did you arrive? When will you leave? Did you exit the country at anytime after arrival?

I don't think it will matter if the OP exited the country during his/her stay - that no longer restarts a visa.

Krasnykamen, I think your transgression should be viewed as very minor and perhaps not even noticed. If it were me, I'd plan to arrive as early as possible for check-in, to give myself some slack in case of problems.

I guess they are likely to either overlook the problem or to resolve it fairly quickly - three days after all is not a serious issue - and you are obviously on your way out in any case.

Worst case (hopefully) is to resign yourself to possibly paying a fine, and lay blame on the company you work for if necessary.

No guarantees, obviously - they could make an issue if they want to - but I would think it's unlikely.

my only concern is missing my flights. i'd rather leave (go to poland) for two days then come back as a tourist to catch my flight, then miss my flights.
the tickets are way to expensive to change and paying 100euros to leave and return is safer then maybe getting screwed at the airport

You could always come to Belarus for a short visit to do a visa run.

We have vodka and herring and your foreign currency will go a long way.

I arrived in Ukraine during May of 2010. I had a one year visa that expired on May 4th 2011. I left the country (to Moldova) in July on a visa run, (to reset the 90 days). I left again in September because I went to Russia. I did another visa run in October and returned to the US in December for a few weeks. I was never questioned by the border officials. I believe this was because I always left before the 90 days was up. I returned to Ukraine in January. I was planning on doing a visa run in March but decided against it because it would mess up my plans for International Women's Day. I had a flight out of Ukraine on May 14th. I knew I might have a problem because I was past the 90 days. So I did another border run to Moldovia before my visa expired. They took me off my bus and said some paperwork would have to be filled out and that I would have to pay a fine. (I ended up paying 360 grivna) They said it would take 3 hours to fill out the paperwork but it only took an hour and a half. They originally told me that if I left that I would have to stay out of the country for 90 days. (Because if you are 90 days in then you must be 90 days out.) I had crossed the same border twice in the past year and they never told me this before. They then changed the story. They said if I came back that I wold have to leave the country within 3 days. I only did this border run because I thought there would be less problems if my visa had not expired yet. The next day I took a bus back to Odessa. I wasn't sure if they would let me back into the country. To make a long story short; I had no problem getting back into the country and then 9 days later I had not problems flying out of Kiev. <I'm not sure if things would have been different if I had not gone to Moldovia>
