Hi,
Can anyone advise me on TEFLOne Recruitment www.teflone.com? I've applied for my first TEFL job through their recruitment company. A Mr David Coles has been in touch asking for my passport info and offering Shane English School in Taiwan as a possible job location and employer.
I have my reservations as I've read some negative feedback regarding Shane. Below is the recruiter info.
Best regards,
ABS77.
David Coles

Why do you need a recruiter to find work at Shane? |

I have dealt with this guy, he offered me a position at Shane English School a while ago. He's a typical recruitment consultant all nice to you and that but more concerned at getting you placed anywhere so they can get their $$$ thats all they really care about. I sort of have a hate recruiters in general through my experience with them.
I ended up being in bit of a crap Shane franchise school which I left after a few months. It's a kind of lottery you might be in a decent place, you might be in a bad place. If you go through the company and not an agent you have more say in where you want to be.
Overall Shane is alright for newbie they give you training and support at the start but a lot people stay for a year then they move onto better schools. I think there are one or two grumbles but nothing too much, my experience wasn't good but everyone else I speak to seem happy, especially when you compare it to HESS. Tell me how you get on I'm kinda curious to see what happens. |
