Personally I would do Egypt NOW for two reasons. One, we don't know what is going to happen after the elections or in the next few years. And second, it is great to visit Egypt when tourism is down. It is so pleasant to visit all the sites without all the crowds.
Japan and the Philippines will be pretty much the same this year or next year or the year after.

I had a joke all ready for this and had second thoughts. Hands down, Cap'n. Fil, Egypt in low-tourist season in the kind of weather coming up = the right thing to do.
May I suggest the 10-day Nile Cruise that lil' missus and I took in 1995?
It's truly the better choice! And...don't forget the bakshish! |

Traveling to Egypt is tempting. But I'm hesitant for the same reason I'm reluctant to go to Israel.
There are numerous bombings, terror and other acts of violence from time to time. The Middle East is a dangerous place, especially in these unstable times.
Travel to the Middle East...
...it's scary!
