How many are thinking of leaving the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia becasue they are worried about their personal security ?
Are we living through the opening phases of WW3 or another Vietnam-style conflict that will spread through the Arab and Muslim world ?When I was growing up we thought WW3 would be a full-scale nuclear war between Moscow and Washington. Now it seems it might be something different.
One of my colleagues here says that he would be more concerned about his safety if he were living in London and commuting to work on the Tube.
I have friends outside the Kingdom who are constantly urging me to leave.
What do others feel ? |

After seven years, for the first time the thought of bugging out has crossed my mind. The Yambu thing has me very upset and I am beyond rage over the conduct of my beloved Army in Iraq. That will not make things better.
I also note that my ISP has turned off my porn sites as of this morning. |

I have one of those illegal satellite hookups. Very fast, very nice.
While they are doing maintenance this week they have switched over to a conventional (censored) link. I just know I am missing some sort of late-breaking developments at Playboy.Com!
On a lighter note, I see that AFS finally got breakfast sausages back in the store. |

Is such equipment fairly easy to find?
Expensive?
How does it work? Is it a TWO-WAY data link, or is it one of those deals where your outgoing packets go through a land-based ISP and the incoming come through the satellite?

It works just fine. Thanks for asking.
The signal goes from here (pointing at my computer) to the antenna over at the community center. The antenna has some sort of line-of-sight signal to (someplace in Jeddah) where (something scientific) happens.
It goes for SR250 a month. |

I might get one next September, not because the censorship is a problem, but because it is impossible to get ADSL where I am and my phone bills easily come to SR500 a month. I presume you're sharing the connection. I suspect a single line would be considerably more than SR250 a month. |
