Why is the Vice-Chancellor threatening people and saying obscene things on the HCT hate blogs?

Isn't that a "duh" question? Laughing

Of course, the reality is that no one would know who was making the posts that you refer to. It could be... you...

It's possible...

I'd personally like to thank the runners of the blog sites that keep the HCT on it toes and its feet to the fire. Without their tireless efforts, the HCT would soon attempt to heal itself through the cyber-licking of its self-inflicted wounds.

I, as a recipient of the God-awful decision that started this thread, will do my part to keep dragging it up to the top so that it will be readily viewed by those who may be drawn in by this atrocious sham.

Shame on the HCT for it past, current, and I'm sure, future actions that marginalize its workers and destroys families through thoughtless and non-thought-through life decisions!

Yeah, Tubby, I've got skin in this game and I'll be in it up to and past the point of the announcement that the pent-up EOS is cancelled across the board because you have no reserve to dip into...

It's about time that they were brought to task!

I've seen a preponderance of very mean-spirited bureaucrats in many Gulf-based workplaces. The good administrators, if there were any to speak of, have all left the HCT.

Couldn't agree more with you. There aren't any good administrators left in HCT and in particular Sharjah. Don't go to this place if you are highly qualified. You will be intimidated, lied about to the Director without the opportunity to stand up for yourself and humiliated beyond belief. One of the supervisors there stands outside the classroom trying to listen to your lessons. She also walks in unannounced to your class and sits in. Now that's okay if it's to everybody but when she picks on one person it's bad news and there is one person picked on every semester. She has to have a whipping boy. Rolling Eyes

There is at least one honourable location/s left. The Western Desert locations.
(Madinat Zayed, and Ruwais).

The advantage of these places is that they are so far from the mainstream that nobody bothers to go out there and screw things up.

The rest are pretty much all dregs, with a couple of exceptional individuals.

I must ABSOLUTELY agree with 2buckets. Phil was wonderful to me, personally, as my Dean and know of his popularity at his Directorship.

In fact, I feel kinda bad for him, for if it is discovered how great and popular he actually is with his staff...he might grow in popularity on Tubby's hit list! Crying or Very sad

It's the unadorned truth!

Phil is the perfect example of that rare bird... a teacher who has moved into and up the management ranks and excelled at every level!! If only he could be cloned...

Way back in my day is when he joined as a teacher.

yes, good man is Phil, despite being a Crystal Palace fan,as his his faithful number 2 Nial.he's a 'made'man as he has wasta with Sheikh n for dealing with MZ and Ruwais,so Tubby can't touch him.worked with him at ADMC before the LYNNIX took over.

What a sad place HCT is when people can get sacked for doing their job really well without resorting to fear. I had also heard that the desert campus was a great place to work.

I am comforted by the fact that there is unanimous support for Phil's management style. I hated turning down Niall's request of me to decide to join the desert campus with all of the built-in incentives including the shortened work week, the travel pay, etc..., but I couldn't bring myself to battle bedou that early in the morning for such a long time.

A good, supportive man. I'm glad he's got the sheikh's ear. I wonder tho, with all that wasta, why couldn't he get all of us MLIers our earned EoS?

It's six of one and a half-dozen of the other!

IIRC, when the MLI debacle was occurring, Phil was just transitioning to the Western Desert position. It may have been a situation of choosing your battles.

He was always very accessible, and supportive of me and everyone else at ADM.

His philosophy of meetings was particularly attractive and appreciated.

Basically, "Less is more". Meetings lasted about 10 minutes, and were rarely scheduled.
