I'm not in France but I was hoping some of you could help - can you recommend any solid high beginner CDs/DVDs for learning French? I've been in Quebec for about 7 months now and I am struggling with interaction (Most people here are bilingual and often won't speak to me in French even when I ask! I am at home with a young baby so it's hard to travel 1 hour into the city for any language groups). Any recommendations? |

Great link, thank you!
I am also enjoying the game show "A table!" on TV5 I spend a lot of time in the grocery store so it's a good stepping stone for me |

Michel Thomas. You might work quickly through the beginner set, but there's an Advanced set after (which isn't really Advanced, more of an Intermediate level thing). I used them both before I came to France, and I found them absolutely fantastic. They're quite focused on grammar, but I think that's what you probably need - it's easier to pick up the vocab if you're already in-country, but the grammar is harder to get to grips with passively IMO. |
