|
|
For someone with 8-10 years of experience,
is $36,000 per year
plus housing
plus plane tickets
plus medical
a fair package ?
Will I be able to save part of my salary and still belong to a nice gym?
Will I be able to go to the cinema and to a restaurant each week ?
Are taxis easy to find in Doha ? |

Doha is an expensive place to live. You don't mention the job (primary secondary or tertiary) or your education or where or what your experience encompasses - so I can't comment if it's a good salary - if you have minimal for education and your experience is mainly speaking/listening - it might be OK. If you have related EFL/ESL Master's and 3+ post grad years experience in writing at the tertiary level preferably in the Middle East, it's an insult.
What's your idea of a good gym? What type of restaurants do you like to frequent? As a pseudo gauge - a pint of beer here at most venues goes for between just under $10 - $15USD. Yes there are a few places that are cheaper, this is for the majority of venues. |

This is for a school at the primary level.
I have a BA and teaching degree.
Is it still an insult ? |

Seems pretty standard for this place. Schools here don't pay top rates although the cost of living here is very high.

Doha second most expensive Arab city
.... Qatari industrialist Abdul Hadi Al Shahwani does not agree with the USB study as he believes Doha should be the Arab worlds most expensive city. Doha is small when compared to Dubai but very, very expensive, he said. |
