Did anyone else feel the shaking and run outside till it was over? I usually don't let mild temblores bother me, but this was different! I hope that everyone is OK. By the way, I live in the center of the city near El Angel. |

We ran outside...freaked out my girlfriend but the kids didn't really notice anything.
Been thinking the last little while that we've been due for a quake, especially after the Popo pop-off last month. |

Yeah, this one was pretty major. Our power was out for a while, but is back now, though the streetlights are out, and traffic lights, and there are cops directing traffic, and a few civil disaster people. Otherwise, everything is OK. |

No doubt things are worse nearer the Guerrero epicenter of the quake, and apparently all the tourists (and locals) in Acapulco were badly shaken up. I just saw in El Universal online that the quake lasted 45 seconds in the D.F. That's a really long one! |

Fortunately, we were at ground level in Xochimilco, rather than in our top floor apartment. Not fun up there, but actually quite good fun when you know you're safe, although my wife didn't think so! |

Some of my neighbours on my street were out patching up cracks and re-painting facades today. I guess there was a bit of damage to some buildings. No new cracks in ours. |

I'm going out now and will look for damage to the buildings on my street.
Love your holiday photo! |
