Hello everyone,
I would like to know if moving to Kuwait and applying for teaching positions while there would increase my chances of getting hired than applying for a job while living abroad.

I lived in Kuwait before and I have friends there so it wouldn't be my first time in Kuwait!

Your help and comments will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Hi, I am sure that there may be visa issues and such but personally, I would apply first. Have you tried the TES website? They are good and are recruiting now across the world and Middle East.

Good luck!

Often employers that hire you locally will not give you a foreign hire contract. That means that you only get salary, but no benefits... no flat... no tickets... etc.

Not a good option. I'd check this out before flying off...

I've worked at 3 different schools in the 8+ years I've been in Kuwait. I was hired locally with all 3 and received an overseas contract each time. Most of my friends and colleagues have worked for at least 2 different schools, and all have received overseas contracts, even though they were hired locally.
If the school is a reputable school, the overseas contract is a given, whether you're hired from abroad, or in country.
