Hi, can anyone give me some more information on this school. They are currently in London recruiting teachers, but previous posts on this site have warned people to avoid at all costs, just two questions.
1. Has anything changed to make this a viable job prospect?
2. Are there any new issues that I need to be aware of?
Any research I do on this school doesn't seem to be throwing much up, any help would be appreciated.
Cheers
Graham

first off, if this is your real name, I'd change it asap. Gulf employers do monitor these boards. However, if you're not an EFL teacher, you may still be OK.
Gulf English School is one of those owned by a Qatari and operated by Asian management. Most of the teachers will be wives on their husband's visas so that the school won't have to pay benefits or visa fees. Such schools generally underpay these teachers, because they can (in the region of 5 - 6k max). If you have been offered (or are offered) less than 10K/month, plus: fully furnished single accomodation, private medical, etc. - don't bother. |
