6) People are less friendly and open in Warsaw than in other Polish cities.
7) The city, while far from an eyesore, lacks the beauty of Wroclaw or Krakow. The old town is nice, but it's really only frequented by tourists so it doesn't feel authentic. |

Google 'cost of living Poland'. It makes for interesting reading and destroys the argument that 1,800 is ok in Poland.
What shocks me is that the situation is even worse in Ukraine! Turkey looks like a good bet. |

| I was chatting to a Polish girl I know who's from a place just outside Gdansk. However, she works in Switzerland as a translator. Last night she was telling me how she buys all her clothes in SWITZERLAND because they're cheaper than Poland. You'll all be pleased to know that the skiing remains cheaper in Zakopane, but only just. |

something tells me though that your skiing experience in Switzerland would be just a weeee bit more enjoyable though. |

Sharter, I ski all over Europe and you're pushing it. If looking at day passes, word class resorts like Zermatt cost about 300zl, Zinal 180zl, Bellwald 180zl. While in Poland its between 80-100zl per day.
Of course it is all relative, since a "ski resort" in Poland means a maximum of 10km of trails, half-assed grooming and standing in long lines with snobs and assholes, while anywhere in Europe a decent ski resort has a minimum of 150km of trails, fantastic snow, great weather and incredible infrastructure.
Btw, what languages does she translate? Polish? In Switzerland??? |

Yes.

| She speaks Polish, Italian, German and English....oh and Spanish. She's doing a PhD on a scholarship working to get pocket money to pay for her sick child in Poland. She reckons English teachers are making 80 quid an hour at the school down the road!! |
