Sorry to comment on something you said you weren't looking for people to comment on, but WOW... $100,000NT per month!!!!!

Clearly you won't be teaching English, or you will be teaching so many hours that you won't really have any time to enjoy life/live/eat/breathe.

Seriously though, you can live quite nicely in Taiwan on $45 - $55K a month (your revised number) but I really wouldn't want to try and support a partner and her kids on that much.
