Dear eurobound,
As a smoker myself, I can feel your pain. but fortunately, I don't have to share it. Here in New Mexico, I buy my smokes on the rez (the Navajo reservation,) where the tax is substantially less: they cost about $2.50 a pack.
Regards,
John |

Dear eurobound,
No stable for you (unless you're a horse) - that's why we have a guest room.
Regards,
John |

That's even cheaper than here in Old Mexico. Packs of 20 cost between 2.75 and 3.50. |

Even better! Can't wait to get over there! I am having so many 'Young Guns' recreation fantasies now it is unbelievable! You be Pat Garrett, I'll be Billy the Kid! |

Dear Billy,
"You be Pat Garrett, I'll be Billy the Kid!"
OK with me, especially considering how THAT turned out: "Billy the Kid was indeed killed on July 14, 1881 by Sheriff Pat Garrett."
Regards,
Pat |

Dear B the K,
This song is dedicated to you:
"Blaze Of Glory"
I wake up in the morning
And I raise my weary head
I got an old coat for a pillow
And the earth was last night's bed
I don't know where I'm going
Only God knows where I've been
I'm a devil on the run
A six gun lover
A candle in the wind
When you're brought into this world
They say you're born in sin
Well at least they gave me something
I didn't have to steal or have to win
Well they tell me that I'm wanted
Yeah I'm a wanted man
I'm colt in your stable
I'm what Cain was to Abel
Mister catch me if you can
I'm going down in a blaze of glory
Take me now but know the truth
I'm going down in a blaze of glory
Lord I never drew first
But I drew first blood
I'm no one's son
Call me young gun
You ask about my consience
And I offer you my soul
You ask If I'll grow to be a wise man
Well I ask if I'll grow old
You ask me if I known love
And what it's like to sing songs in the rain
Well,I've seen love come
And I've seen it shot down
I've seen it die in vain
Shot down in a blaze of glory
Take me now but know the truth
'Cause I'm going down in a blaze of glory
Lord I never drew first
But I drew first blood
I'm the devil's son
Call me young gun
Each night I go to bed
I pray the Lord my soul to keep
No I ain't looking for forgiveness
But before I'm six foot deep
Lord,I got to ask a favor
And I'll hope you'll understand
'Cause I've lived life to the fullest
Let the boy die like a man
Staring down the bullet
Let me make my final stand
Shot down in a blaze of glory
Take me now but know the truth
I'm going out in a blaze of glory
Lord I never drew first
But I drew first blood
and I'm no one's son
Call me young gun
I'm a young gun"
Regards,
Pat |

I'm soooo happy I don't smoke.
My lungs are clean and healthy.
And my wallet is fatter, too.

Come to Russia! Cheap smokes abound, and little of this health warning nonsense. The Powers-that-be seem to be actively encouraging youngsters to smoke. Probably something to do with them not having to pay out state pensions if you're dead by 54 - a cruel inversion of the rationale for the drive against cigarettes in Western European countries ( reducing health insurance claims...) |

Assuming you smoke 10 a day on average. That's 3650 a year. At 7.12 that's 1299.40. (But I've seen them for more than that - 11 at heathrow!)
Go to another EU country. I think prices range between 4-5 in countries that have no restrictions on quantity. I am pretty sure the 10 new member states, Bulgaria and Romania have restrictions (3200 i think).
So, on 188 packs over the year you would make a saving of 550-350. You can have a holiday for that price too! |

Ye, in Qatar, i paid about 8 for 200. I think the prices are similar in China. But if they catch you at the airport in the UK with more than 200, they will take them all off you, or ask you to pay the duty!!
A chinese housemate i had at uni, had 30 cartons taken off him when he flew in from China! |

Travel thousands of miles and pay thousands in airfare to just smoke in Russia?!
No thanks, comrade.
Not unless, of course, there are...cheap Russian hotties. |
