Isn't he a bit old for the Top Gear job?

Can you expand on why it's filthy?

I found Top Gear dull and predictable, but I'm not interested in cars. It does, however, make stacks of much needed money for an ailing BBC. It won't ever be scrapped. Neither will trash such as X Factor, which really is filth and sets out to humiliate people.

Expand on why it's filthy? That will be like explaining why a tabloid is gutter press, e.g. The Sun, which Clarkson has written for too.

This whole show is basically the voice of the old empire. Ignorant, condescending, convinced of its right to rule the the world by virtue of its superiority.

Filthy piggieism, is all it has ever been.

Chris Evans has just signed a 3 year deal to deal a new Top Gear line-up.

Right, we've already established Jeremy Clarkson is guilty of evil crimes and should be hung until dead and then shot.

But Chris Evans an egomaniac? He presents a radio show, which I've never heard. Do you expect a shrinking violet?

It's the old British disease. Someone's more successful than you, so he must be a bad guy. Pathetic.

Reminds me of the teacher that, as the coordinator, I had to remind again and again of the right way to enter grades (he kept doing it wrong).

He said I was picking on him because he was British. I relied that I didn't care if he was Martian; I was "picking on him" because he was an idiot.

Maybe his being "successful" isn't the reason for the rancor - but I suspect you already knew that was an illogical claim.

1. Pictures, Christmas decorations, etc, are hung, whereas condemned criminals are hanged.

2. My negative opinion of Chris Evans is based on his antics whilst he was the host of the BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show. Follow this link for details:

3. As I've never been a radio or TV presenter, there seems little point in comparing me with Chris Evans, or any other presenter for that matter. I certainly don't envy him his success; I'm happy with what I've got.

4. The English (not British) disease consists of putting people like David Beckham on a pedestal and taking delight in knocking them off it. Now that really is pathetic.

They should have picked the person who got around the the race track in the quickest time and of course made them pay an obscene amount of money for the chance to get the job!

Anyone would be better than that gina Evans!
