No clear thinking person can argue otherwise.

Knox, by all accounts, is apparently innocent. The evidence against her was lacking...

I have every sympathy and respect for the Kercher family. Although bewildered and distressed at the recent verdict, they have stressed what they most want to know is the truth. Sadly that may never happen.

As to Amanda Knoxs true innocence or guilt, I dont see how anyone can really know given the Italian polices complete failure to gather physical evidence securely. What seems to have been most damming was that she falsely accused someone else. I haven't followed the trials in detail but what does interest me is the media portrayal of her. In one sense I think her treatment in the press is very similar to other women in other murder trials who, as Knox did, failed to behave appropriately in public.

Lindy Chamberlain, in Australia, paid dearly for her resolute behaviour in public. She refused to break down and cry and apparently showed any grief, shock and misery in private. Likewise, Joanne Lees kept her grief private, wore inappropriate clothes (a t-shirt with cheeky monkey written on it) when speaking about Peter Falconios disappearance on TV in Australia. The reality was that she was alone, in a state of shock and had very few clothes with her. Neither woman displayed much media savvy on how they should be acting in front the cameras pretty much what youd expect of an ordinary person suddenly caught up in horrific events being broadcast around the world. Something similar happened to Kate McCann (and to a lesser extent, her husband) when her child disappeared.

The media lesson seems to be no matter how dreadful the circumstances and whatever state of shock and grief you are in, if you get caught up in a situation thats going to have all the worlds lenses suddenly zooming in at you, youd better make sure youre seen to act appropriately at all times. Youd better also hope you know what appropriate means if you dont want to be negatively tried and convicted in the media, before any real trial begins. This seems to be especially true if youre female.

Yup, same thing happened to OJ when he wanted to take a drive and clear his head. Damn media and their finger pointing.

Oh come on! You cannot possibly believe those charlatans as well! They simply cannot be believed by a clear thinking person.

A second member is now an ex-member because of insulting remarks made on this thread. The thread is now locked.

It would be incredibly foolish to start another thread bearing on the same topic on this board.
