TBI pays some really EF-like wages at some of the smaller schools. I've heard as little as 9 million at Bekasi and Bogor and some of the other small ones. This is really just EF Swara wages with no guarantee of quality. Actually TBI Bekasi appears to be owned by some kind of nasty piece of work who has ripped off a lot of foreign teachers.

I would choose Wall Street to work at. Their reputation is generally good. I've talked to teachers who worked at Wall Street in Thailand. Adults that either wanted to learn or Adults that had to go because the workplace was sending them there. If it's like Thailand, the students undergo self education with the teachers giving them help and assessments. The programs are for real, the students have to do the work and they do fail students.

TBI the so-called British Institute is actually nothing to do with the UK. It was bought out 15 years ago by an Indonesian company. That's the first thing. Second they have gotten rid of all the expat managers now so you are dealing with local managers in almost all their schools. They have been reneging on promises at some branches and the company does NOTHING to help if you complain. All employees in Indonesia are entitled to a payment called THR which is one extra month's wages a year usually given at Lebaran. When a friend of mine complained that TBI wasn't paying this, the owner promised to pay it if he could prove he went to church. He got a letter from his pastor but they backed out of the promise anyway. He went to the centre and they refused to back him up either. They used to have a better reputation but now things are very poor in some branches. TBI has lost its Mojo. Go for Wall Street.
