My son is 15 and in the 9th grade in the US. He will be joining me and going to school - plan is - in Mexico at a private bilingual school in mid-Feb.
I've heard from schools a wide range of things that are involved including:
A. just show up at the school,
B. go to an office in Mexico City and get formal papers on what level he should be in based on transcripts. they will determine the exchange of credits.
C. (this one from the school that is the most likely one) go to the site of the secretaria de educacin publica and find out what paperwork you need to do in Mexico. However, I couldn't find much of note on the site except that students could transfer between the countries and go see the principal.
Have any of you dealt with this? Any help would be appreciated.
It all seems like it could be a mess with my showing up to the school only finding they want me to jump though a new hoop that could take a month with my kid not being in school. |
