I'm weighing two uni offers - one would land me in Puebla and the other in SLP.
Based on what I've found on this site and elsewhere it seems as though that both cities are safe, decent, reasonably charming, and OK places to live.
Puebla though seems like it might have the edge when it comes to personal activities (things going on), opportunities for part-time work gigs and proximity to DF in case I need a big city fix. I'll be working part-time this semester going full time (supposedly) next one.
This semester I'll have my 15 year old son with me and have a school for him in Puebla and I think in SLP (of course if the school in SLP doesn't pan out that decides it). He may or may not be with me starting next Fall.
So, I'm curious what town would you prefer to live in and why?
What town do you think is better for a single, middle-aged man who knows minimal Spanish at this stage and no one in either place?
Which would be a better town for a teenager who speaks some Spanish but picks up languages very easily?
Is one more culturally vibrant than the other?
Cost of living seems about the same, maybe a little higher in SLP...correct?
