Just as a footnote to the situation here in Saudi.
There was a meeting the other night at the consulate in Dharhan and the consular official asked "why are you still here?" to the US expats.
It urged them all to leave immediately and that if they were forced to evacuate them that it would be very expensive. |
So what did they say?
I always get weary of theses embassy warnings. They are trying really hard this time to get everyone out. It makes me worry about what will happen once 'most' of the Americans do leave.
I think I will stop reading www.whatreallyhappened.com cuz it's making me go hmmm |

They urged all US citizens to leave asap.
They also stated that it would be expensive if they had to evacuate.
They obviously have a lot of intelligence that leads them to that view.
A lot of stuff that is going on here doesn't make the papers.
e.g. There was a car packed with explosives found in Khobar last week and this was not reported also a humvee vehicle was stolen.
Some may consider the the US warning is over the top.
Then again maybe it isn't.
My neighbour was in Yanbu last week when the incident happened and he is a long time 20 veteran and he considers the mood to be worse than he has ever experienced.
I myself am in the process of moving to Bahrain where i feel it is safer. |
