Hi,

I'm applying for summer school jobs currently in the UK. I've been offered a few interviews, and now people I am starting to think about DBS (CRB) checks. The problem is that I don't currently live in the UK, but in Eastern Europe.

I can't send my passport as a) I need it here, b) I will need it to leave this country and c) I don't trust the post service. I don't have any other documents from the main list (list A), also I don't have any recent bills for a UK address.

Are there any different procedures for people who don't live in the UK? Are the schools in anyway flexible?

Hi,

I've worked three summers for two different summer schools in the UK.
Regent and LAL.

Each time the companies themselves do the crb check so you may have to fill out a short form sent by your summer school company and put in a few details but you never have to send away your passport etc.

Hiya! I can´t offer any help on the original topic but was wondering whether you´d know where to find reliable information on having to send away your documents etc.. as I´ve been asked to do that as well and it sounds, well, dodgy. Thanks for your help!
