Remember that Putins regime has a virtual monopoly of most of the media, including t.v. and knows very well that this guy can never match their resources in an election campaign......be sure that letting him out was a very cleverly calculated risk which could be used to appease the regimes critics, both internally and abroad and was no doubt taken after a lot of debating and argument among the clans in the ruling power elite in the Kremlin. It will be very interesting to see how they react if it backfires on them and Novalny did win the election, despite all odds.......

What a condescending piece from the BBC. Such utter nonsense, eh?

If a lack of objectivity is the complaint of the OP, then it seems that he is calling the kettle black. I think he could be classified as an advocate or cheerleader for Russia, but he doesn't appear to be impartial. No offense intended.
Passion and enthusiasm are relatively rare. Just because I am a curmudgeon, I shouldn't expect others to be. I don't grasp why Russia would inspire such feelings, but to each his own.

Please have a small bag packed and ready by your doorway. The organs will be visiting soon for transport to re-education camps.

Sadly not so well respected these days. Radio 4 programme Feedback has listener queries or comments re biased news almost every week. Haven't been able to listen lately because of their (and others) reporting on Ukraine. Obviously they believe that there are enough 'persuadables' to continue with this style of rhetoric.

John Pilger questions L Harding's professionalism, knowledge/ability, in Asian Times article.
