Hello all in Thailand,

I have to do a visa run to Thailand from Vietnam next month and was wondering if there were any good ESL bookshops in Bangkok?

I would like some business related stuff for prep students. I wouldn't mind a decent book or two for myself either.

Thanks in advance,

Vab

Bangkok has many many more bookshops, both new and second-hand, than HCMC or HN.

The best place for EFL textbooks is DK Books:

You'll probably want the First Showroom on Rajaprarop Rd. It's not that easy to find as far as I remember, down an alley, but centrally located

Chulalongkorn University also has a bookstore. It's behind Siam Square not too far from DK.

Kinokuniya is basiclally the top-end retailer for new books of all kinds:

They're in that same general downtown area.

The KSR (equivalent of PNL) is quite distant from that, near the river. There are numerous piles of second-hand books around there, mostly over-priced; try to bargain, but you never know what you may find there. Two long-standing shops that may or may not be there now are Shaman and Aporia. Look for Shoshana in an alley near the Police Station on the corner for some authentic Middle-eastern (Israeli) food.

That is a lot more than I could have hoped for - Thank you - Now I can get a book and enjoy a meal too!

Again, thanks.
